My father was an architect and my mother a painter, sculptor, potter, and lover of literature. Both were exceptional craftspeople. There was no television in our house so my sisters and friends and I were our own entertainment. My childhood included building structures out of anything available and designing and performing theatrical events.

I believe we are all storytelling creatures, that story is the underlying structure of all our expressions. I believe in the power of the individual voice in the chorus of humanity and our creative works are windows to the soul.

STATEMENT

For me, life and art unfold like the unfolding of stories. The depth of experience feeds the richness of the journey. Minor characters in early chapters may reappear later as wizened wizards. The art of puppetry is wise and magical and has trailed me, pointing out that I have, by the way, been exploring components of this art for much of my life. It has my attention now and I wonder where this will lead.
